- How do I get started?
Go to the practice table. To start playing, move the cursor to the right of the baulk line and when the cue ball is visible left click to place.
- Aim using the cursor and left click to lock aim.
- Pull the mouse back towards you and then push forward to shoot. The faster you push forward the harder the shot. The power bar (on the right) shows how hard you have hit the cue ball.
- To add back, top or side spin click on the spin ball (bottom right) prior to taking the shot.
- What are the rules of killer pool?
Killer pool is simple to play. You start with three lives (classic) or one life (sudden death). Each player takes it in turns to pot a ball. If you miss you lose a life. The winner is the last person standing. If you foul by failing to hit a ball or potting the white you also lose a life. If you do not pot a ball on the break you get another shot. On the break you must cause at least three balls to be connect with a cushion or be potted. After any foul on break a life is lost and the next person is put into play to retake the break.
- How do I join a game?
Look through the lobby for a game. Each game is set up for a specific number of players and you will have to wait until the right number of players have joined before the game starts. You can see the number of players currently in the game and the number required for the game to begin from the lobby. Click on the game and a game window opens. You can practice while you are waiting for other players.
- What happens while I am waiting for other players?
While you are waiting you can practice on your own. When sufficient players have joined the game window there is a sound alert and all players will be asked whether they wish to start. Click the "Yes" button under "Play game" to make the game active. If any of the players drop out at this stage you will have to wait for a new player to join the game.
- Can I play more than one game at a time?
Yes you can play more than one game at any one time. So while waiting for a table to fill up with players you could play another game of killer or a game of speed pool.
- How do I know who is in a game?
Just roll your mouse over any game in the lobby and the game details appear on the right, in yellow, showing you which players are currently in the game. It will provide you with some details about each player.
- What happens when a game finishes?
Everyone playing in the finished game will be asked if they want to play again. If all players click "Yes" then another game will commence. If one or more players leave then you will have to wait for new players to join.
- How do I play speedpool?
Speedpool is a one player game. The clock starts when you break and the aim is to clear the balls in any order in the fastest possible time. There is a five second time penalty for each foul.
- What happens when I run out of play money?
If you lose your money you will be automatically re-loaded with another £20 of play money.
- Does my computer meet the technical requirements?
The game is designed for a minimum resolution of 1024x768 resolution. Your computer will need to have Java installed, version 1.5 or later. Beneath is a test for Java:
